"GLOW IN THE DARK" TECHNOLOGY

Why do you recommend in most cases to order not prepared Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33, but glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33? What are the advantages of such approach?

Really, in most cases we recommend to order not Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33, but a glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33. The matter is that the glow powder is a basis for any paint. For preparation of 1 liter of any luminous paint it is necessary to take 500 gr of a glow powder - luminophor ÒÀÒ 33. Then this glow powder should be added to a transparent lacquer, which is designed for your type of surface.
Let's conclude why Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33 dominates over the glow paint:

1. 500 gr of glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 costs 105 euros, and 1 l of Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 - 110 euros.
2. The storage period of the luminous paint is less than 1 year, the storage period of Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33 - 200 years. (Why does it happen? It is connected with the fact that carrier, in which luminophor ÒÀÒ 33 is added, can be either two-componential or not designed for injection inside of alien components. For example, the term of life of the activated 2-componental automobile varnish - 4-6 hours. In that case if we added luminous powder ÒÀÒ 33 in it, we should use such luminescent paint within these 4-6 hours because of the structure of this kind of carriers. That's why it is easier and more efficient to buy glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 and to add it in different carriers directly before the painting. This method guarantees qualitative drawing on 100% and removes restriction on time for usage of the carrier with glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33).
3. Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 is intended for coloring of surfaces, which in most cases are indoors and do not experience mechanical loads (interior objects, mineral surfaces etc). Having luminous powder (luminophor) ÒÀÒ 33 it is possible to select the perfect carrier for each type of a surface in such a manner that the product will be covered by the luminescent paint for a very long time without corruption of this surface with the run of time.
4. The minimum order for glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 is 100 gr, and for Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 - 1 liter.

What does the Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 consist of? Is it possible to make it by myself?

Luminescent paint ÒÀÒ 33 is a combination of Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33 and universal water-soluble acrylic varnish.
It can be received by yourselves, without any help. Any specific industrial equipment is not required for this purpose. Mixing is possible even at home or in the office.

Why do you offer prepared glow paint TAT 33, if there are restrictions for its use?

We still recommend to pay your attention to glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 first of all. But if you do not have time or possibility to prepare glowing composition by yourselves or you consider that purchasing the luminous paint you get the possibility to make fast coloring of a surface - Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 is an excellent choice for you. In some cases the glow paint ideally approaches for coloring of a surface that customer wants, therefore there is no sense to order separately glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33 - as a result absolutely similar luminescent paint would be received.

How to prepare Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 for my type of surface using glow powder ÒÀÒ 33?

In order to receive 1 liter of any luminous paint you should take 500 gr of a glowing powder TAT 33 (either green or blue) - it is about 250 ml in volume - and 750 ml of a transparent varnish, which fits your type of surface. The ratio of luminophor ÒÀÒ 33 to a varnish is 1:3 or 1:4 by volume. It is the universal formula for creation of any glowing composition.
For example, you want to prepare 1 liter of a glowing paint with a blue luminescence for parquet covering. For this purpose it is necessary to have 500 gr of blue glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 and 750 ml of a transparent parquet varnish. After mixing we will receive a luminous paint, which is applied for a parquet by use of a brush or a pulverizer. On the average, with 1 liter of the Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 you can color up to 8-10 sq. m. of a surface.
The similar principle is used also for creation of other glowing compositions. For example, the glow paint for glass is a combination of the luminescent powder ÒÀÒ 33 and a varnish for the glass, the glowing paint for metal is a combination of the glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33 and a varnish for the metal etc.

Is it possible to add glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 in a paint, which is usually non-transparent?

To reach the maximum luminous efficacy luminophor ÒÀÒ 33 should be added into a transparent varnish. If you add it in a paint, you'll still get the effect of luminosity, but only those fractions glow, which are in the external layer of such paint. The luminescent powder, which is inside the paint, will not glow. Therefore, we recommend to use luminous powder ÒÀÒ 33 only in a combination with transparent carriers for reception of the maximum luminosity. Adding glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 in a paint will make no reaction between these components, but the effect of luminosity will not be strongly pronounced.

Is it possible to receive other luminescence's colors of Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 (not blue and not green)?

It is possible. For this purpose it is necessary to use fluorescent powders. There are 8 kinds of them: dark green, red, dark blue, yellow, pink, orange, white, magenta.
Fluorescent powders change the luminescence spectrum of the green glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33.
For example, we need to receive 480 ml of the glowing paint with a yellow luminescence designed for the wood surface. For this purpose we should take 100 ml of the green glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 (it is equal to 200 gr), 20 ml of the yellow fluorescent powder (it is 15-20% of green glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 in volume and it is equal to nearby 20 gr in our example), 360 ml of any transparent varnish, designed for a wood. At first, we need to prepare a yellow glowing powder in the necessary quantity: we mix luminous powder ÒÀÒ 33 with fluorescent powder. Then this powder composition should be added in a transparent varnish and mixed up until we obtain homogeneous mass. It is not difficult to notice, that the proportion 1:3 (1:4 is possible) in volume remains in this case also.

Is it possible to mix green and blue Glow in the Dark Powder ÒÀÒ 33 or different kinds of fluorescent powders?

Yes, it is possible. If we add blue glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 in green glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 after mixing we will receive white glowing powder composition in the daytime with a grainy type of luminescence. Otherwise fractions with blue and green luminescence will be appreciable. This effect is widely used in the interior design.
Fluorescent powders also can be mixed between each others. In most cases such mixing gives the opportunity to receive shades of different colors.
Let's remind, that the fluorescent powder can be used separately from luminous powder ÒÀÒ 33. In that case you should expect a fluorescence only under the influence of the ultraviolet. Look an example from our photo gallery.

Is it necessary to keep strictly the proportion 1:3 in volume = 1 part of Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33 for 3 parts of the transparent carrier?

Absolutely not. It is a recommended ratio. In practice it can be 1 to 4, 1 to 5 etc.
If we add 1 part of glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33 in 4 parts of a transparent varnish, the level of luminescence will be also very high. Besides the area, which can be covered with such composition, will increase also.
You should understand that strict rules don't exist in our case. It is important to understand ways of use of the glow powder, after that with minimum experience and some imagination you will create very interesting and demanded things.

Can the surface, which is painted with ÒÀÒ 33, be in the daytime same as it was before painting and glow with wanted color only in the evening?

It is a question about transparency of glow powder ÒÀÒ 33. The luminous powder is not transparent. It means, that after coloring the surface basically will lose (at least partially) the initial color. It can be kept partially in some cases, but it is practically impossible to make ÒÀÒ 33 completely imperceptible after coloring.
But it is necessary to notice that day color of the painted surface and color of a luminescence can differ. For example, after coloring auto disks with a green Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33, their day color will be close to white, and the luminescence will have green (light green) color. It is possible to make so that in the daytime the painted surface has effect of a chameleon (it can play on the sun) and in the evening glow with the necessary color. Also you can receive a reflecting effect in night conditions (simultaneously with luminosity of a product). There are many variants of surface coloring with various effects. We are sure that you will be able to choose the variant you like.

What is the influence of external factors on Glow in the Dark Powder ÒÀÒ 33 properties?

Luminescent paint ÒÀÒ 33 is unique. It is absolutely inert, it does not oxidize, it does not evaporate, it is not absorbed on other surfaces, the temperature of its fusion - 1800îC, the temperature of the beginning of weight's loss - 2500îC. The luminous paint is absolutely steady against influence of external factors (mechanical, chemical, physical). But this question should be examined on the other hand. We should discuss not glow paint's TAT 33 features, but features of the surface, on which it is put. For example, speaking about stability of a glowing composition on the paving tile it is necessary to know physicomechanical characteristics of varnishes for concrete surfaces on acrylic or polyurethane basis (a guarantee till 10 years).
Thus, process of light accumulation and its subsequent luminescence can be guaranteed on hundreds years despite the various factors of influence, but carriers, on which the paint is put, must be selected in an individual order.

How long does the luminous paint TAT 33 glow in darkness?

Glow in the Dark Powder ÒÀÒ 33 is capable to accumulate huge light energy (up to 1022 quanta/sm3) at natural or artificial illumination and then can give back accumulated light within 8-12 hours after the termination of external illumination. It is important to notice that the luminescence during dark time is equivalent to the light of the full Moon (0,1 lux).

Duration of afterglow is measured as follows. We place glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 under a light source of known capacity (force of radiation) and hold it certain time (1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours etc.). After each test we place luminescent powder TAT 33 in absolute darkness and estimate the parameters of its luminosity: duration and brightness of a luminescence first of all. It is considered that luminophor ceases to glow when the level of illumination, which is created, does not exceed some beforehand set value (depends on type of luminophor, the fraction size, components of luminophor). For Glow in the Dark powder ÒÀÒ 33 this indicator is equal to 11,2 hours. There is a question: how did we get such numbers: 8-12 hours of glowing? The matter is that the carrier can influence on luminosity greatly, it can increase luminosity of glow powder ÒÀÒ 33 or, on the contrary, reduce it. For example, silicone compounds (together with ÒÀÒ 33) glow even more than 12 hours, and luminescent powder ÒÀÒ 33 in combination with some kinds of resins - less than 9 hours. As for the rough luminescence - time between full charge of glowing powder ÒÀÒ 33 and its full attenuation (the luminescence termination) - it is 37 hours. ÒÀÒ 33 is one of the strongest sources of natural, not an electric luminescence today. The small size of fraction, great capacity of a luminescence, ecological compatibility allow to use it in many areas.

Will it be enough usual street night illumination for Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 additional charge?

Surfaces, which have been painted according to the technology "Glow in the Dark", are able to be charged from any light source (solar, fluorescent lamps, electric incandescent lamp, ultra-violet light etc.) except lamps, which radiate "red light". It means that night illumination acts as good source of additional energy for the glow paint TAT 33.
There are certain peculiarities in additional charge of luminous paint for automobile disks. Auto disks processed with ÒÀÒ 33 are capable to be charged even while braking. In this case the static field, which appears while braking, causes a strong luminescence. This feature can be used for increasing a visual effect, for example, we can paint auto disks in one color and brake blocks in another.

What kinds of surfaces can be covered with Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33?

Essentially - any. For each material there is a simple procedure of processing. Therefore even if we have not worked earlier with a material, which interests you at present, it is possible to find the qualitative decision very quickly.

Will the appearance of automobile disks change after coloring?

The disk's color, visible in the daytime, can be various despite the fact what color this disk will glow at night. Besides disks of light tones have the greatest luminous efficacy because white color mainly represents itself as a very good reflector.

In what colors Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 can luminesce (except basic)?

Luminescent Paint ÒÀÒ 33 can glow with such colors: green-white, yellow-green, green, blue, yellow, yellow-red, dark blue, red, orange, magenta, white etc. Pay your attention that human eye perceives different colors with various sensitivity.
We also must care about the glowing color because different colors have different luminosity strength. Unequal luminous efficacy while using different colors is connected with the fact that it is necessary to add special pigments to the paint of basic green color. These pigments will absorb a part of glow, but will give desirable color to a disk.

I am interested in clothes, which glow in darkness. What will be if Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 constantly contacts with a skin?

Absolutely nothing. The glow paint is completely safe for people and does not contain any element harmful to a human body. Therefore you should not be afraid to wear such clothes.
By the way, T-shorts, shorts, sweaters etc. processed by Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33 are perfectly washed, and drawing does not lose the visual qualities (does not wear out) for a long time.

Is "luminescence" of auto disks, processed according to your technology, noticeable in the night urban illumination or only full darkness is required?

The luminescence is visible even in the surrounding illumination if the charge has been made by more powerful light source. Essentially darkness is not necessary. The luminescence is visible because of a difference in light's power. As for the night urban illumination - the luminescence will be visible if:

- The surface has been lightened by a bright source before glowing check, for example, from distance of 1 meter by incandescent lamp or black light;
- The car is under illumination of road lampposts but the auto disks are in shade;
- The car brakes before glowing check (the statics and heating also lead to a luminescence).

If I have a necessity to remove the glow paint ÒÀÒ 33 from a certain surface, will it be possible?

Restoration of initial appearance of a product in some cases is possible. For example, autodisks can get its initial appearance after procedure of washing off by certain reagents.

How long is luminescent paint ÒÀÒ 33 capable to be charged and then to radiate energy?

For a several hundreds years. The basis of glow paint ÒÀÒ 33 is aluminium oxide. The given composition is not oxidised, does not submit to the destroying influences of atmosphere, does not react with aggressive substances. The reaction, which causes afterglow, is not irreversible. Essentially we can guarantee: the product, for example, auto disks will decay, will turn into dust and this dust still will glow!

I want to paint my disks with your Glow in the Dark Paint ÒÀÒ 33. Are there any moments about which I should know?

The glow paint ÒÀÒ 33 has a number of interesting features and properties. Using it we have revealed a number of regularities, which you should consider:
1. Fast temperature drop. It happens when "charged" surface was fast cooled. For example, car disks were heated up from a friction of tyres with asphalt and from regular braking. Then if the car drove in deep enough pool or snowdrift, duration of afterglow reduces because of sharp cooling. The same effect is observed if you charge disks in the warm place, for example heated garage, and then you drive out from that place. As a rule, such effect is observed in winter.
Pay your attention: vice-versa, if you drive to a warm place from a cold one, glowing effect considerably increases.
2. Twilight. The twilight period takes away a part of glowing light because it is not enough light energy at this time to charge glowing paint TAT 33 additionally, but at the same time surrounding light is capable to block partially luminosity of the painted disks. Here is a conclusion: glow will be better when twilight is shorter (in winter). On the other hand: in summer the light stream is much more powerful, therefore the charge of luminescent powder TAT 33 will remain longer.
3. The temperature below zero affects duration of afterglow. If it is cold, the glow duration is reduced. Conclusion: temperature difference causes the luminosity in summer is higher, than in winter.

All described factors give us the opportunity to conclude the following: in different seasons both favorable and negative factors, which influence the duration and brightness of glowing auto disks, will take place. In general, factors counterbalance each other, therefore the glowing effect will be visually very attractive.

I have additional question concerning glow paint ÒÀÒ 33. Can I ask my question and will you add it to the list of questions?

You can always ask us here - "Contacts". If the question is asked often enough it will be included into the list of questions in this section of the site.
